This page provides script (for plays) and short story reading services.
Before you submit your play or short story for a report, I recommend that you redraft it sufficiently – eight or nine times is an average amount – while at the same time, possibly swatting up on the relevant craftsmanship highlighted in the articles on this site to help you in your endeavours.
It isn’t absolutely necessary, but I recommend you also send along a plan or synopsis of your play or even short story. This is a great way for you to observe easily and speedily where weaknesses may lie in your work, when they are pointed out to you. (The plan: a bird’s eye view. For the play click here. For the short story click here.) You will need to include the protagonist’s physical (if applicable) and emotional journey (a must), as he or she moves through the important plot points of the story. (See The 3-act plot arc structure. For the play click here. For fiction click here.) The plan or synopsis should be no more than 500 words for the short story and just a little longer for the play.
Let me know your main reason in seeking a report and whether there are any particular questions you may want answers to (up to three); for example, storyline believability, is the twist foreseeable, is the play/story well-paced, etc.

These word lengths won’t include your plan or synopsis. But try and keep that within the limits suggested above.
